Over the years Companions has supported various projects related to world mission with an increasing focus on theological education. The Archbishop of Canterbury and other Anglican leaders, including the Episcopal Church’s Presiding Bishop, have identified theological education as a top priority for the worldwide Communion. An initiative, Theological Education for the Anglican Communion (TEAC), has been launched to implement this goal. Especially in areas where the Church is welcoming large numbers of new Christians, there is a need for education in Biblical scholarship, church history, liturgics, and pastoral care. Theological education is a fundamental means to unify the Anglican Communion that now extends over many countries with different concerns and conditions.
